Sachin Tendulkar Wants 15,000 Runs

And a 2011 World Cup title. Ambitious stuff, since he needs 2,227 more runs. If he maintains his current average of 54.58, he’ll need 40 more innings to reach the milestone. Assume India plays 13 Tests a year (as I think they did in 2008), and that he plays all 26 innings, he’ll be home free in about a year and a half.

Like I said, unlikely. He may just have to wait until 2011, when he’ll be 38 years old. Not unreasonable — Jayasuriya can still hit the ball well pushing 40 years old — but as he admitted, the pain isn’t going to decrease as he keeps playing.

  1. […] Sachin Tendulkar also returns to the side after sitting out the ODI series against the West Indies, but Virender Sehwag is still out with the shoulder injury that caused him to miss out on the World Twenty20. […]

  2. There is obviously a lot to know about this. There are some good points here.

    I’m Out! 🙂
